Built to replace the outdated home intercom system, Nucleus is a 21st-century wall-mounted digital companion designed to connect family and friends whether they’re in the other room or across the globe. The Nucleus smart home intercom is the most sophisticated way to keep in touch with your inner circle.

The Family Companion Device

With an emphasis on “interactions,” the Nucleus can be used for room-to-room exchanges like calling the kids down for dinner; inter-com chats with cousins living overseas; or better yet, for mobile calls from smartphones or tablets using the Nucleus companion app.

Called the family companion, the Nucleus connects to other devices in no time at all. You can have an instant live conversation without the hurdles of logging in, waiting for a connection, or wondering if the other party is available.

Integrates with Amazon’s Alexa

Backed by Foxconn, the manufacturing firm best known for producing Apple’s iPhone, the Nucleus is the first touchscreen device to integrate with Amazon’s Alexa – the retail giant’s online digital assistant. With its hands-free feature making voice-activated commands like, “call grandma” second nature, the smart intercom can easily link to any of Alexa’s 1,400 skills via 3rd party apps.

From ordering late night pizza to locking in concert tickets, Alexa syncs up nicely with Nucleus and provides families the convenience of a digital assistant.

iOS and Android Compatible

The Nucleus comes with all of the bells and whistles. From its 8-inch touch screen display to its 720-pixel HD camera. This device also plays music by connecting to Amazon Prime Music, iHeartRadio, or TuneIn – all powered by Alexa.

The Nucleus app, compatible with both iOS and Android, allows you to monitor your home by accessing the HD live video stream feature. Want to make sure the kids made it home safe? The 120-degree HD camera lets you see the entire room. Download the app and you’re able to feel home from anywhere.

Easy Set Up/Installation

Installation and set up can only be described as a breeze. With the recommended purchase being two Nucleus devices (so they can speak to each other and connect to mobile devices), the system is powered by a wall adapter or by power-over-Ethernet (POE).

Its sleek and modern design makes this lightweight (2.1 lbs) digital point of contact aesthetically pleasing. If you like the look of a “smart home” this is the perfect device. The 5-minute “out-of-the-box” set up consists of creating an online account, recording unique numbers that pair with other Nucleus devices, and entering the unique numbers into your other Nucleus devices. They are ready to speak to each other in milliseconds.

Cloud-Based Platform: Possibilities are Endless

Creator Jonathan Frankel designed the Nucleus specifically for the mass market. From kids to grandparents, the mission is to “bring people closer to home and to the people they love.” With its cloud-based platform and its compatibility with applications like Insteon, Skybell, Ring, SmartThings, and Nest, the possibilities are endless. Next on the docket for Frankel and his Nucleus: the ability to connect the Nucleus device to your home’s smart appliances.
