Cozmo is a cool little toy that mixes digital pets, like Tamagotchi, with fully moving robots, like Robosapien. This little guy features rubber treads to move around on, arms to lift up included interactive blocks, and an adorable LED screen that acts as Cozmo’s face.

What I like most about Cozmo is the personality the toy is able to exhibit. Cozmo has a full spectrum of emotions displayed through the face screen, and honestly, he’s adorable! I grew up with robotic sci-fi properties, like AstroBoy and MegaMan, so I’m very excited to see that this technology is starting to become more readily available.

It is great to see one of the first self-learning toys. This toy will definitely not end up on the shelf with all other toys kids got bored with after getting through all the features.

  • Cozmo knows you—your name, your face, and even your quirks.
  • Cozmo develops a unique personality the longer you engage.
  • The more you play with Cozmo, the more games and upgrades you unlock.
  • Cozmo remembers the games you’ve played. And will ask you to play your favorites.
  • Cozmo never shares your info. A local device-to- device connection means there’s no data stored in the cloud for others to access.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this toy develops later on. Teaching features would be a nice addition so learning is not a one-way street. We want to give our young generation the gift of knowledge as well.

But for adults or older kids interested in this type of technology, there is a sort of successor to Cozmo available, named Vector. Vector uses a similar design but comes packed with way more advanced technology, like motion and distance detectors so he doesn’t fall off anything. Vector is also Alexa compatible so you can ask him almost anything.

I’m super excited to see how robotic companions like this become more advanced and more readily available.
