What Is MeUndies?

MeUndies was launched in 2011 as the first online underwear subscription service. Since then, MeUndies has quickly become a household name when it comes to undergarments.

As a brand, MeUndies values self-expression. So, they offer plenty of comfortable underwear in many styles and patterns (they even come out with seasonal and holiday patterns).

PROS
  • Vegan-friendly
  • Latex-free
  • Offers different fabrics
  • Ethically Sourced
  • Natural, Sustainable, Breathable Fibers
  • Imported Under Fair Working Conditions
  • Can save some money by buying UndiePacks
  • New customers can save with a 20% off + free shipping on their first order
CONS
  • Can be pricey
  • There are some reviewer complaints of pilling
BOTTOMLINE

The edge MeUndies has (and assumably the justification for the high undie prices) is that they are vegan-friendly and latex-free, so they are a great option for those with sensitive skin or allergies. However, most people are not interested in paying $20 for a pair of underwear.

MeUndies for Men

MeUndies also has a large selection of underwear for men too. Men also have the option to opt for MeUndies’ original fabric or their Breathe fabric, so they offer the comfortable feel as the women’s underwear. However, it’s also worth noting that they also receive the same complaints the underwear for women receive.

The styles of underwear found in MeUndies’ men’s section are as follows:

Boxer Brief

MeUndies has options when it comes to their boxer briefs. You can choose the classic style, the Long Boxer Brief (which also comes in a w/ fly option), and the Boxer Brief w/ Fly style as well as the Breathe versions of these.

Trunk

The trunks don’t offer as many styles as the others, and only comes in the classic style and the Breathe option.

Jockstrap

The jockstrap only comes in one style, but there are so many colors and patterns to choose from!

Long Undies

MeUndies’s Long Underwear resembles leggings with a fly and is made for loungewear.

Undie Packs

You can get an Undie Pack of any of your favorite styles of underwear in a 3-pack, 6-pack, or 10-pack.

Other products for men also include: socks, swimwear, loungewear, and other accessories.

Is MeUndies’s Breathe Underwear Better Than The Original Undies?

MeUndies’s Breathe collection features underwear, bralettes, and socks. This collection is made with active people in mind, looking for underwear to support higher mobility.

According to the MeUndies help site, the Breathe collection is:

  • No Show
  • Quick Dry
  • Anti-odor
  • Moisture-wicking
  • Lightweight & Breathable
  • Super stretchy & Soft

It’s also good to note that the fabric used in the Breathe line is different than the original MeUndies line. The Breathe line contains:

  • 69%Textured Nylon
  • 9% Recycled Nylon
  • 22% spandex

While the original MeUndies fabric is made out of:

  • 92% MicroModal®
  • 8% elastane

Something that reviews and MeUndies themselves disclose is that the “Breathe” line runs small, so it’s a good idea to size up!

Membership

MeUndies originally was known as the first underwear brand with a monthly subscription service. Throughout the years, their membership has changed.

As of now, the MeUndies membership comes in a subscription format. The subscription is free to join, you just pick which items you want to “subscribe” to which you will receive monthly. Then you just pick your pairs for the month and you score up to a 30% discount on each order!

You can also cancel your membership at any time.

My Experience Trying MeUndies

When my pair of MeUndies arrived, they came in bright purple packaging that was cute – but not discrete at all. With that being said, MeUndies currently does not offer discrete packaging.

Straight out of the bag I can tell they were going to be one of my favorite pairs of underwear. They were soft, and stretchy, with strong elastic waistband.

Like all my clothes, I washed these first before actually wearing them. There were no loose threads or any change of quality with the first wash out of the package (as should be expected with pricier undies).

The fabric was very comfortable and breathable! It kind of reminded me of how a jersey t-shirt fabric feels (which is one of my favorites), so that was a big pro for me.

Most underwear I try begins to irritate me throughout the day, usually with the elastic band being too tight and becoming bothersome at some point. This was never an issue with my pair of MeUndies.

I even wore them to an exercise class and I still have absolutely no complaints regarding any uncomfortable moments. The fabric itself even never bunched up or caused uncomfortable friction.

It’s been a few washes since I originally wore them, and they’re still holding up really well, and I expect them to hold up for quite some time.

However, just looking into other reviews I have noticed some people haven’t had the same experience of their pair of MeUndies holding up well. Some of these people also mentioned the let customer service know, and they were receptive and even sent them a replacement pair!

Should You Buy It?

I’m personally going to give this one a straightforward no. Although MeUndies is comfortable and has cute options, it’s seriously tough to justify $20 for a pair of underwear.

However, if you have latex allergies or are a vegan, then these may be worth the steep price. Do keep in mind there are also other alternatives for this as well that we’ll go over in the next section.

Alternatives?

When it comes to undergarments, there are more than enough options on the market. So much that it can honestly be overwhelming to choose from. So, we’ve narrowed down some other options to try out:

American Eagle

American Eagle is usually known for their other apparel, particularly their jeans. However, what may come as a surprise to many is that American Eagle also offers great underwear under their Aerie line. It’s extremely comparable to MeUndies style offerings and quality at half the price.

Duluth Underwear

With the tagline “America’s Most Comfortable Underwear”, Duluth sets expectations high off the bat. And many claim it to be true as well. Duluth has many of the same styles, but are made of different materials and seem to have a different fit. However, they are also cheaper than MeUndies so they’re worth trying out if you’re looking for the perfect pair.

Tommy John

Tommy John is another brand that focuses on providing the perfect undergarment. They even have a “Find Your Fit” quiz to help you find your new favorite pair of underwear.

Final Verdict

Although I enjoy my pair of MeUndies, I can’t say that I would buy another pair solely because you can find similar quality for a lower price.

With each pair of underwear starting at $20 and going as high as $26 for one pair is pretty expensive for underwear, so it’s a bit hard to justify the price for any underwear. Especially when you can find comfortable underwear you like at good deals at places like Costco, and other club stores.
