Using the power of ultrasonic technology, the pocket-sized Dolfi is designed to complement your washing machine by offering a more tackling super-delicate clothing.
Described as the perfect travel companion, Dolfi is a highly portable cleaning device that saves you money on laundry services and allows you to keep your packing to a minimum.
Dolfi is currently priced at $189.
Dolfi is a no-effort solution to expensive hotel laundry services. Since the device is small and portable, it’s a great option for people who are traveling or anyone who needs to clean a shirt in a pinch.
After the 30-40 minute cleaning cycle, just simply rinse and hang up to 2.2 lbs of gently washed laundry and you’re ready to go the next morning.
Dolfi is using a state-of-the-art cleaning technology normally used in industrial and medical settings. Whether it’s dental instruments, surgical equipment, lenses, jewelry, watches, or auto parts, ultrasonic technology has been used to clean fragile equipment both gently and thoroughly.
The magic of Dolfi is in its multi-frequency transducer that “creates precisely modulated wideband progressive sound waves, which travel through water and form microscopic high-pressure bubbles. The tiny bubbles then implode, creating millions of micro-jet liquid streams.” The end result: a deep cleaning experience that protects your fabrics from damage usually caused by repeated washing machine use.
“With Dolfi, “Handwash-Only” labels do not apply.”
The creators of Dolfi designed the cleaner as a travel companion. All you need is a sink stopper, inflatable hangers, and Dolfi to make one of the smartest travel combinations imaginable. Just fill the sink with water, submerge your dirty clothes, add some detergent and let Dolfi work its magic.
Whether it’s delicate fabrics (silk, lace, cashmere, lingerie), men’s shirts/ties, wool sweaters, sportswear, or kids clothes, Dolfi ensures no wearing of fabric, no shrinking, and an inside-out clean.
Dofi’s real selling point to eco-conscious consumers: it uses “80 times less energy than a conventional washing machine.” From the freedom to buy handwash-only clothes to reducing your carbon footprint, the Dolfi is the perfect addition to any smart home.
So is the Dolfi practical? Although it’s not designed for big loads or things such as linens, towels, jeans, this product can be an easy solution for anyone traveling, wanting to preserve their delicates, or have an interest in saving energy.
However, through video demos, I noticed that it takes the Dolfi over 20 minutes to see results, and there is a constant low humming noise as it works. This is a huge reason why I think most people in most cases are better off just handwashing any items.
Especially since this device is not suited to larger loads, it’s important to consider what purpose you have for this device if you want to purchase it.
It’s pretty hard to find reviews on this product, seeing as they disabled comments on their YouTube video demos and ads and they don’t offer reviews on their website either.
I’m still not completely sold on ultrasonic washing, as it doesn’t seem too effective, and can get better results simply by handwashing your clothes. However, if you are interested in the device, there are similar products found on Amazon for a fraction of the price.
Ultimately, this product is an interesting concept and could be great over time as the technology for it improves. But, for now, I’m going to say this one isn’t worth it.
